R Jason Rawlings is an award-winning filmmaker residing and working in Memphis, Tennessee. His work often revolves around the home and how our living spaces connect us and the world at large. The stories are born from a place, evolve from there, and are colored by the intricacies of the location.
His film, “Natives,” has been featured in both Indie Memphis and Oxford Film Festivals and he was awarded Best Director by the Mid-South Black Film Festival.
He is a 2022 Crosstown Arts Artist in Residence where he worked to develop, Thrift. He is a graduate of the University of Memphis film program.
